If you have a table saw or radial arn it is pretty simple to

own, just slice off a slim wedge. They are cheap and come in a pack.

Works best if you insert one on each side and push them together. For

Yes that is what a shim is. It is thicker on one end so you can

slide it up under the cabinet. You can also use small peices of wood you

have and don't have to buy a pkg of shims. Just adjust it until your

A shim is about 3-4 inches long, looks like a small wedge. And very very

Anyways. Just swing on over to your local, ACE, Lowes, Home Depot, lumber
center, etc. They cost about 3-5 bucks for a pack of about 10 to 12 of
them. Trust me, you can do it and its no big deal.

There are pre-cut shims that taper to a point on one

end-they're available at any hardware or building supplier. Simply drive

it is just a piece of wood that is tapered. typically called
Dream Girl
shim shingles and usually made of cedar or pine. you will need to place

several shims around the cabinet base not just at the low corner. this

helps distribute the weight of the new counter top.

You can buy shims at your local lumber store, maybe at a
Baby Brunette
hardware store. You could use a shingle. Since you're raising on corner

Yes a shim is a ''slice of wood''.or, actually a piece of wood

that can be so long, or so wide, as to hold up whatever it is you need.

I would go & get a piece of wood, & saw off a 1/4 inch piece, (get hubby

to do it, if he is handy), & shove it under the cabinet, where it needs to

be leveled. That will take care of it.

Also, make it flush if its the front that needs leveled, so that you can
put the base trim on the front & not have to worry about hitting the shim.

Make the shim about 3 inches wide.

I wish you well
